Bach – Suite No.1 in G for cello

interpreted by Mischa Maisky
#010 – ’16 week 40

This time is way softer than the two weeks before!

This song is well-known because it was extensively used in movies or advertisements, as ambiances or as characters, to describe something peaceful, some waitings, some comparisons…
I find the real strength of the whole song is all about emotion, not about technical thing, plenty of instruments, lot of speed or whatever. Plus we use to see (listen to) piano or violin solos instead of not-so-obvious solo instrument (trombone, I see you 🙂 )

I choose this interpretation instead of some others because I find the balance between the instrument and the ambiance sound pretty good and interesting. And the player isn’t running after his instrument all the time.
